UKSGL Fuel Sampler/Thief, Spot/Any Level (ALS)
UK Sampling Gauges Ltd, ALS Samplers are ideally suited to taking true spot samples from any level or depth within a stored liquid, to check for quality, density, or chemical purity etc
The ALS Sampler has a valve at the top, opened by a snatch on the supporting cable
In operation the valve stays closed, and therefore the sampler stays empty, until the sampler reached the depth at which the sample is required.
The top hat feature of the design minimises contamination from fall-out from the supporting cable, but the valve does not re-seal, and so minor contamination of the sample may occur during retrieval. If you require a re-sealing sampler for true samples, then use either ALSB/ALSC/ALSBV.
The full ALS range includes samplers with overall diameters between 38 and 152 mm, capacities between 130 and 2500 ml, and they are available in brass, as well as 316 stainless steel
ATEX:
- The ALS Sampling Gauge is NOT ATEX approved in its own right.
- The ALS Sampling Gauge can be supplied in ATEX standard, when it is purchased at the same time as a Mk-1A Winder.
- The ATEX certificate will contain the serial numbers of both the Mk-1A Winder and the Sampling Gauge. The Winder will have an "ATEX Sticker" applied to it, and the Sampling Gauge will bear no additional markings.
- The ATEX marking is Ex II 1G IIC c T3
- Other Sampling Gauges that qualify for ATEX approval in conjunction with EACH Mk-1A Winder are: ALBTMS, BTMS, ALSBV
- The ATEX certification is provided FREE OF CHARGE and automatically, when a qualifying gauge and winder are purchased
To DIN EN ISO 3170, for manual sampling of petroleum liquids.

Samplers can either be lowered with a specialised hand-winch, for smooth and clean operation, or, more crudely, with a length of cotton rope, cotton is used because it is chemically resistant to all fuels, any also fibre that enters the fuel will not harm it, what with fuel filters being made from cotton fibre also. Rope can be found in the options below, priced per metre. Hand Winches can be found by clicking the image below:
